If your mercy

If your mercy is like an ocean

then I wish to be swimming in the deepest, wildest part

If your mercy is like a bottomless well

then I wish to be free-falling through it

If your mercy is like a beautiful garden

birds flitting among the bright colors and scents

then I wish to be lying below the lilacs

embalmed in their purple delight

If your mercy is like a mother and child

I wish to be the child

held tenderly in loving security

If your mercy is like death resurrected

Then I wish to be stumbling out of the grave

If your mercy is like a Father

then I wish to be your daughter

listening to your stories

my head upon your knee.
